Getting Started
Need help getting started here on Allied Paths?
Here are the suggested steps to follow.
I. Read the About section. Are you interested in the Roleplay? If you are, great! Move onto step two. If you aren't, that's fine too! Go ahead and leave. I won't be offended! The RP isn't for everyone.
II. Read the information in the Rules and Regulations board. Be sure to follow those rules, or face the consequences.
III. Decide what sort of character you want to play as. Are you going to play a Pokémon or a Human character? If a Pokémon, look at step 4. If a human character, look at step 5.
IV. Look at the Pokémon Board. Look at the types board first. Make sure the type of Pokémon you want to play as is available. If it is, look at the list next. Is the Pokémon you want to play as available? Do you want to play as a legendary/mythical Pokémon? If you do, make sure you talk to the admin first. As a guest, you can post in the help board. Once you figure that out, move to step 6.
V. Figure out where you think your character belongs. Are they going to be on a team? What sort of Pokémon are they going to own? Are they a new trainer, or an established one? Do you want to be someone of importance, like a gym leader or a professor? If you do, make sure you talk to the admin first. As a guest, you can post in the help board. Once you figure that out, look at step 6.
VI. Now that you have your character figured out, it's time to find a definite faceclaim! For Pokémon, just find some pretty pictures of that Pokémon. However, for a trainer, finding a faceclaim can be harder! Remember, you can make an OC or you can play as a Canon character. If you're playing as a Canon character, the faceclaim is already out there for you. If you're going to play as an OC, look for a real person, an anime character, or make some art of your character/commission someone to draw them for you.
VII. One you have everything above figured out, it's time to register! Remember to make your username your character's first name. This includes Pokémon names. Even though played Pokémon are usually wild, they should have a name as well to make it easier. Legendary/Mythical Pokémon should register with the name of that Pokémon rather than a name the player creates.
VIII. Time to work on biographies, appearance threads, etc. If you need help with any of this, feel free to ask a staff member!
IX. Time for the fun to start. Make your first roleplay post! Either start a thread, or reply to an Open one!
X. HAVE FUN!
